Have You Ever…?

Hey, Ya’ll!

Have you ever really sat back and observed the people connected to you?

Do they serve positive or negative energy?

Do they pour into you and refill you when you are empty from pouring and filling up others?

Do they give or just take?

Do they add value to your life or simply take you saving space for them for granted?

If the answers to these questions aren’t in your favor, it’s time to reevaluate your tribe: family, friends, and associates.

We should all bring something useful to the people in our lives as well as expect reciprocity.

Have you ever stopped to observe the things around you—things we hardly pay close attention to?

Like the books on the bookshelf. What are you reading? Sometimes, the things we ingest gives a new perspective or alter our perception.

Have you ever just listened to the sounds nature make? The birds, the trees, the wind, and the rain.

Nature has the best soundtrack to life when we take the time to listen. I mean truly hear what’s hidden within the subtle hints.

Being in the midst of unhappiness is contagious. We get sucked into a cycle of self-pity, self-doubt, and self-sabotage without realizing it until it’s too late.

Start paying attention to the people, places, and things that are attached to you.

Ask yourself are they helping or hindering your personal growth and mindset. Then, make a conscious and intentional decision to cut ties or salvage them.

The choice of yours.

If at the end of this task if you are content with the way things are in your life, carry on. But if you discover a cycle that’s more of a liability than an asset, make mindful decisions to reflect change. After all, what do you have to lose? Some baggage that should have been unpacked a long time ago!

It’s time to be honest with yourself. Life is too short to settle. Don’t!
